This role focuses on building and operationalizing AI agents that automate and improve customer and employee workflows across the organization’s generation and supply activities. The organization invests in agentic AI and conversational assistants to make journeys faster, smarter, and more consistent. Existing agents already support both customers and colleagues, and the demand for expanding this capability is growing.
About the role
As an AI Engineer for the GenAI Accelerator, the role is a hands-on builder who turns business needs into working agents. The position sits between business and IT, combining technical proximity with practical understanding of where the value must land. Work includes building agents, designing and controlling prompt flows, and handling skills and tool calls. The engineer is also responsible for tracking how the field evolves so the solutions remain relevant and effective.
What you’ll do
Build agents that solve real problems and ensure they are actually adopted in the processes they target. The work typically connects three elements: the value to be created, the process where it will operate, and the agent that delivers it. You understand how these interact and build accordingly.
A portion of the time is forward-deployed. In addition to large-scale process automation, the team temporarily embeds into specific projects or business teams to build agents for their users and needs. This approach emphasizes getting close to the problem, shipping something useful quickly, and demonstrating value where it is felt.
Concretely, you develop and optimize AI agents that can perform tasks autonomously, support business processes, and make knowledge more accessible. You take ownership of prompt flows, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) implementations, and conversation design. You translate user or business requirements into the right agent design and integrate it into the process so it changes how work is performed, rather than remaining a demonstration that never goes live. You prototype early using low-fidelity approaches to obtain real-world feedback, then iterate toward robust and scalable solutions. You also embed where needed as a forward-deployed engineer, leaving teams better equipped after delivery.
Reliability and responsibility are central. You safeguard accuracy, privacy, security, and quality so agents can be depended on and run responsibly at enterprise scale. You stay ahead of the field by monitoring emerging AI techniques, agent ecosystems, and integration standards, and assess them based on practical value for the organization.
Who you work with
You work in a small, high-expertise team consisting of a Product Manager and several AI-focused full-stack engineers. You collaborate closely with the Conversational AI team, product owners, and operations. The role is self-directed, with meaningful influence over how AI is applied and the opportunity to take initiative and experiment.
