In this temporary assignment, the Data Scientist acts as the technical content lead for Transaction Monitoring (TM) Detection within Wholesale and Rural. The role focuses on shaping, governing and evolving detection logic and advanced analytics capabilities to help prevent money laundering and terrorist financing at scale. The assignment ends at the end of January 2027.
The position combines technical ownership with strategic, non-hierarchical leadership. The content lead contributes across multiple squads and stakeholders, provides coaching to improve the performance, quality and maturity of Data Scientists, and participates in the Sub Area Leadership Team (SALT) to support strategy, prioritization and people management. Technical decision-making is expected to be aligned with business, regulatory and technical requirements, and the content lead represents the domain within the wider area to influence cross-area priorities and technical standards at scale.
Key responsibilities include accelerating the migration of multiple locations into the Detection model; owning (large parts of) detection logic and ensuring alignment between related detection functionalities; introducing advanced analytics such as machine learning and/or network analytics with relevant stakeholders; partnering with senior colleagues/content leads on strategic and technical priorities; leading alignment with adjacent fields (IT, Architecture, and related TM detection); and driving adoption of best practices and standards through hands-on guidance and coaching. The focus is on analytics that deliver measurable impact in detecting criminal behavior.
Working is hybrid under an “@anywhere” policy, with a specified client site in a Dutch city serving as the on-site reference point for external staff. From Monday through Thursday, external staff cannot park at the client site as of April 2026, while parking is permitted on Fridays only.
Eisen

- Academische graad (MSc / PhD) in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics of een gerelateerd STEM-veld
- 7+ jaar ervaring in advanced analytics, modelling of AI in complexe gereguleerde omgevingen, met het opleveren van (advanced) modellen en systemen in productie
- Beschikken over een geldig paspoort of identiteitskaart; meenemen naar het interview en bij start van de opdracht
- Door CV en/of motivatie duidelijk aangeven of er geplande vakantie of bijzonder verlof is tijdens de duur van de opdracht
- In CV aangeven of een interne referentie kan worden aangevraagd
Wensen
- Een pre is een academische graad (MSc / PhD) in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics of een gerelateerd STEM-veld
- Bij voorkeur ervaring met 7+ jaar in geavanceerde analyses, modellering of AI in complexe gereguleerde omgevingen
- Idealiter ervaring met het ontwikkelen en implementeren van (geavanceerde) modellen en systemen die daadwerkelijk productie opleveren
