The position strengthens security governance and assurance by assessing third-party assurance reports, reviewing security-related documentation and information, identifying risks, and providing practical, risk-based recommendations to stakeholders. The work is performed in a hybrid manner under an anywhere policy, with on-site presence at a client location in Utrecht; external parking restrictions apply from Monday through Thursday (no parking at the relevant site) and parking for external staff remains permitted on Fridays only. The assignment runs until 31 December 2026.
Key activities
The Security Officer reviews and evaluates assurance and audit reports (including SOC 1, SOC 2, ISO 27001 and ISAE standards), assesses the effectiveness of security controls, interprets complex technical and audit findings, and translates them into business implications. The role also analyzes security policies, standards, procedures and control frameworks; monitors security developments, vulnerabilities and emerging threats; supports consistent application of security requirements; and contributes to compliance-oriented security reviews. Collaboration with business units, vendors, auditors, and senior management is central, including clear communication of risks and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
