Over de opdracht
This role supports a secure, stable, 24/7 automation service for application and platform teams at a large financial institution. As an automation engineer in the Infrastructure as Code area, you will help teams deliver technology services efficiently and consistently in a complex, large-scale on-premises environment.
Responsibilities and environment
You will design, deploy, administer and continuously improve an automation platform used by many application and platform teams. The work includes automating repetitive operational activities and managing platform installation, upgrades, patching, migrations, backup and recovery. You will apply security and compliance considerations to automation across Linux and Windows environments, and support operational incident, change and problem processes.
You will collaborate with an international Agile team supporting a large on-premises infrastructure estate. The wider environment includes networks, data centres, platform and database services, secure connectivity, lifecycle management and infrastructure automation. The service operates around the clock, and the role includes standby duties and daily operational shifts. The assignment is based in the Netherlands; no specific hybrid or remote-working arrangement is stated.
Your work will help strengthen operational stability and security, standardise infrastructure services, and enable technology teams to work more efficiently and consistently.
Eisen
- At least five years of experience in a comparable large-scale and complex infrastructure environment.
- Extensive experience with an enterprise automation platform; version 2.6 or higher is preferred.
- A strong automation mindset and the drive to automate repetitive work wherever practical.
- A thorough understanding of Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Knowledge of security and compliance requirements for Linux or Windows platforms.
- Experience with security tooling.
- Knowledge of and experience with Scrum and Agile ways of working.
- An understanding of IT operations activities and familiarity with ITIL and incident, change and problem processes.
- Strong analytical skills, resourcefulness, flexibility and confidence to challenge when needed.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- High proficiency in speaking, reading and writing English.
- Customer focus, transparency, a results-oriented approach and strong teamwork.
- Experience with Git repositories and configuring CI/CD pipelines.
- A profound understanding of Infrastructure as Code concepts.
- Experience managing containerized applications.
- Basic knowledge of identity and access management processes using directory services.
